Located on the West Coast, with unobstructed views over Pessegueiro Island, we find this recent Biosphere-certified rural holiday resort, which combines the serenity of the Alentejo plains with the freshness of the sea, and offers a vast portfolio of activities to those who stay there.
At Monte da Bemposta, the entire surrounding area was designed to preserve the site’s character and enhance its sustainability. The land was carefully shaped to maintain its natural feel and create areas that ensure guests’ privacy, without stopping them from enjoying the view and the wonderful sunset. For this vast space, Horto do Campo Grande’s landscape architecture team selected a mostly native plant palette, with medium-to-low growth and pioneering ground cover, allowing natural vegetation to develop over time and be selectively maintained by the maintenance team. In the transition areas to the natural landscape, meadows were sown, where spontaneous wildflowers emerge, making it possible to add future structures, and welcoming the many animals that live on the estate and delight the children who visit.
