Charming, versatile, fragrant, and easy to maintain, climbing plants have the power to beautify any garden, balcony, or outdoor space. It’s impossible to resist a pergola scented with jasmine, a wall with colorful bougainvillea, a balcony with touches of Cape leadwort, or a Boston ivy with its reddish autumn tones. These plants are also perfect for hiding a wall, adding to a fence for extra privacy, or creating shade under a pergola.
Choose the ideal climber for your garden, whether it has a Mediterranean, romantic, or classic style! But when doing so, pay attention to two aspects: the types of leaves the climbers have and the way they grow.

These little “athletes” that love heights develop and climb their supports in three different ways:
- The plant climbs over the support, clinging to it through small aerial roots, as is the case with Ivy and Ficus Pumila.
- The plant winds itself around the support. For example, our Plumbago, Bougainvillea, Rose bushes, and Jasminoides.
- The plant, such as the Gloriosa Lily, attaches to the support through tendrils produced by the plant itself, allowing it to grip well.

Climbing plants can be evergreen, meaning they keep their leaves all year round, or deciduous, meaning they lose their leaves in winter. By using several different species of climbers, you can create a dynamic and refreshed environment every season!
