Horto do Campo Grande Sudoeste stems from the opportunity to expand the Horto do Campo Grande brand in a region with growing demand, combined with the commitment to bring our products to our customers, wherever they are.
In this new space, we offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor plants, substrates, fertilizers, insecticides, pots and cachepots, gardening tools from Gardena and Bellota, Weber grills, accessories and consumables, as well as customized landscaping and gardening project solutions developed with the support of the Lisbon Green Space Projects and Construction team.
This new Horto do Campo Grande garden center, located in the former premises of a gardening center, has been renovated and enhanced to meet current market needs, integrating over 40 years of experience from Horto do Campo Grande. Here you will find a complete service, from advice to the implementation of the best solutions for indoor and outdoor spaces.
Inês Piano, who coordinated the Campo Grande garden center, accepted the challenge from management to take over the coordination of this new space, bringing with her the experience gained over years of work within the Horto do Campo Grande universe.
We spoke with Inês to understand the challenges and opportunities this new experience has revealed:
Horto do Campo Grande Sudoeste opened in July, a time when this region receives a large influx of non-residents. How has the experience been? What were the most sought-after products and services?
Interestingly, those who visited us most at the time of opening were residents, curious about the product range and looking for information about the services we provided. Customers with summer homes took the opportunity to do some renovations, both with plants and pots, mostly opting for the full service, including potting and delivery.
With the previous team staying on under this new management, how has the adaptation to this new culture been?
The adaptation has been easy. It’s a professional and multidisciplinary team, with great knowledge of the field and a strong desire to embrace new challenges.

With this new offering, what new audiences has HCG managed to attract?
The new achievements are largely focused on the area of maintenance and gardening services.
How has the customer feedback been?
Customers have given us very positive feedback, as evidenced by the increase in visits to the space. They like the organization of the space and are surprised by the integration of new products, both in decoration and the Weber brand, reinforcing that it makes sense to them, given that the options in the area are very limited.
What is it like to manage a space like HCG Sudoeste? What are the main differences you found compared to the Campo Grande garden center? What surprised you the most?
The challenge was enormous. On a personal level, moving here full-time was a radical change, and even professionally there are many differences, both in the type of customer and the type of product sought. It’s still a very rural area focused on agriculture, with homes featuring small private gardens, but it’s developing rapidly with a high demand for sustainable tourism that respects nature, where gardens and outdoor areas reflect that authenticity, becoming key elements in projects.
In short, the experience has been positive and rewarding! I like new challenges, launching new projects, and HCG Sudoeste is exactly that—a space with immense potential, naturally beautiful; our goal is to evolve it to a new level and respond to an increasingly demanding and informed public.
What can we expect for the future of HCG Sudoeste? What are the main new features customers will see?
To make Horto do Campo Grande Sudoeste a benchmark garden center for all gardening and nature lovers, where, in addition to product sales, we offer interior and exterior decoration services, as well as the full Horto Collection range—custom solutions including planters, pergolas, trellises, tables, and benches. These are all excellent options for personalizing gardens and terraces, which are highly valued as social areas by our customers, where they can fully enjoy this magnificent region.
