ISCTE MARKS APRIL 25TH WITH CONVERSATION ABOUT THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN HISTORY

As part of the 52nd anniversary of April 25th, the ISCTE Library (Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa) hosted, on April 23rd, the conversation “The Role of Women in History: Activism and Resistance,” held in the Reading Club Room. Moderated by Paulo Marques Alves and featuring Deolinda Carvalho Machado, Virgínia Baptista, and Albertina Pena, this gathering provided a moment of sharing and reflection on the role of women in the fight for rights and political participation throughout history.
This meeting was part of a broader program that included the exhibition “Women and Resistance – New Portuguese Letters and Other Struggles” and the bibliographic display “Representation and Political Participation of Women,” reinforcing the connection between knowledge, memory, and current affairs.
At the organization’s request, Horto do Campo Grande joined the session by offering 25 red carnations, distributed to guests and moderators. A simple gesture, yet full of meaning, that evoked the symbolism of April and marked this moment of sharing and celebration of freedom.
HCG SUPPORTS THE 5TH AGRONOMIC WINE FAIR OF IAAS PORTUGAL

Continuing last year’s collaboration with IAAS Portugal (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences), our presence at this initiative, which took place on April 23rd at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, was once again felt through the provision of plants and decorative elements.
Large indoor plants were provided, integrated into Horto Collection planters, as well as additional elements for the outdoor area, creating a more engaging experience and enhancing the participants’ visit.
This collaboration was also accompanied by HCG’s institutional presence, strengthening the connection to academic initiatives and the agricultural sector, and consolidating a relationship that continues to develop consistently.
SUSTAINABILITY WEEK BRINGS TOGETHER ACADEMIC COMMUNITY AT FCUL

The initiative was organized by FCUL students and included the Organizing Committee for Sustainability Week 2026, with institutional support from various faculty entities, as well as partners connected to science and sustainability. The event took place between April 27th and 30th, 2026, under the theme “The Future of Sustainability,” reinforcing the importance of rethinking practices and promoting more active and conscious citizenship.
Throughout the four days, debates and sharing moments were promoted with the aim of bringing the academic community closer to environmental issues, encouraging discussion around the Sustainable Development Goals and the reality of sustainability in Portugal.
As part of this edition, HCG provided 20 packets of organic seeds, symbolically contributing to the event’s activities and the connection between knowledge, action, and nature.
EUROPEAN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE MEETING BROUGHT STUDENTS TOGETHER AT GARDEN DO CAMPO GRANDE

The meeting was promoted by ELASA (European Landscape Architecture Students Association), an organization that brings together Landscape Architecture students from across Europe, promoting academic and professional exchange initiatives between different countries and educational institutions.
As part of this initiative, around 50 Landscape Architecture students from Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Porto, and Évora visited HCG’s headquarters at Campo Grande, where the company’s activities were presented, focusing on its areas of intervention, services, and developed projects.
The meeting also included a symbolic moment at Instituto Superior de Agronomia, with the planting of a tree offered by HCG to mark the occasion and strengthen the connection between European students and the academic territory that welcomed them.
