Andaz Lisbon

Landscaping and plant decoration project carried out by Horto do Campo Grande for Andaz Lisbon, a five-star hotel located in Lisbon’s Baixa Pombalina district. Developed in coordination with the hotel’s architectural and interior design project, the intervention aimed to create green solutions integrated into the hotel’s contemporary and cosmopolitan identity, ensuring a balanced plant presence adapted to the specific characteristics of each space.

Concept and atmosphere

The goal was to strengthen the relationship between architecture, comfort, and the environment by integrating plant elements capable of complementing the hotel’s aesthetic and functional language. In coordination with the various indoor and outdoor environments, solutions were developed to suit the needs of each area, contributing to a more welcoming, natural experience consistent with the Andaz Lisbon identity.

In common areas, such as the lobby and the Andaz Lounge, the presence of plants was designed to complement the dynamics of the space and reinforce an atmosphere inspired by Lisbon’s urban and cultural energy. On the rooftop, the intervention enhanced the visual connection with the city and the Tagus River, creating discreet green frames integrated into the experience of the space.

Species selection

The choice of species prioritized plants adapted to the different light conditions, sun exposure, and usage of the hotel’s various environments. For the interior spaces, species were selected to reinforce a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, contributing to visual comfort and the balance of the spaces.

In outdoor areas, namely the rooftop and the courtyard, the selection took into account factors such as wind, solar intensity, and thermal variations, favoring resilient solutions suitable for continuous use. The choice of pots was also guided by technical and aesthetic criteria, seeking to ensure stability, durability, and integration with the materials and finishes present in the hotel project.

Maintenance and continuity

The landscaping intervention was designed to ensure aesthetic continuity, functionality, and adaptation to the specific requirements of each hotel environment. The careful selection of species and decorative elements sought to guarantee a lasting integration of the plant component, contributing to more balanced, comfortable spaces aligned with the Andaz Lisbon identity.
