About the name
In 2022, David Austin was deeply impressed by the Hands off Mangrove garden, featured at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and created by the non-profit organisation Grow2Know. Designed by Danny Clarke and Tayshan Hayden-Smith, the garden powerfully brought together issues of social injustice and global deforestation. Inspired by Danny’s mission to make gardening more inclusive, this urban rose was created to demonstrate how roses can flourish in any environment.
