Description: Pale peach-colored buds gradually open into creamy, well-rounded rosettes. Each flower has a perfect ring of waxy outer petals surrounding smaller petals at the center. Eventually, the petals reflex backward, forming a large, domed flower. This vigorous, rounded shrub is nearly thornless, with flowers that sway attractively on the branches. It was named after an 8th-century limestone panel discovered in Lichfield Cathedral.
Light Requirements: Prefers full sun or partial shade.
Watering: Shrub roses require regular watering, especially in hot or dry climates.
Fertilizing: Fertilize in spring and after each flowering cycle to maintain plant health.
Care: Prune once a year, preferably in winter, to maintain shape and encourage blooming. Thrives in mixed borders, rose hedges, shaded areas, and even poor soil.
Trivia: The name was inspired by an 8th-century limestone panel found during an archaeological excavation at Lichfield Cathedral, Staffordshire. Believed to represent the Archangel Gabriel, the panel still retains traces of its original Saxon paint.
