Description: Soft orange-red buds open into medium-sized, cupped rosettes in a perfect peach color. They are extremely robust with a lovely fruity tea fragrance. Very healthy, they mature into an attractive, rounded, bushy shrub with few thorns. Named to mark the centenary of Roald Dahl’s birth, with approval from his wife, Liccy Dahl—the color recalls the peach in James and the Giant Peach.
Light Requirements: Prefers full sun or partial shade.
Watering: Shrub roses require regular watering, especially in hot or dry climates.
Fertilizing: Fertilize in spring and after each flowering cycle to maintain plant health.
Care: Prune once a year, preferably in winter, to maintain shape and encourage blooming. Thrives in mixed borders, rose borders, rose hedges, and shaded areas.
Trivia: Named with the approval of Felicity Dahl, wife of Roald Dahl, to highlight his love of gardening. The rose color immediately recalled the peach in the beloved novel James and the Giant Peach. Throughout 2016, celebrations for Roald Dahl’s centenary included the launch of this new rose.
