Lar Sagrada Fam\u00edlia, founded in 1995 and located in the parish of Buraca, has been playing an essential role in welcoming and supporting older people in the municipality of Amadora. In an environment that promotes respect, comfort, and appreciation of each resident\u2019s life experience, the institution offers a wide range of cultural, recreational, and intergenerational activities that contribute to the well-being of its residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On March 27 and April 3, Horto do Campo Grande had the pleasure of welcoming the residents of Lar Sagrada Fam\u00edlia, from Santa Casa da Miseric\u00f3rdia da Amadora. As part of an initiative organized by Jo\u00e3o Tavares and led by our colleague Vera Serradas Duarte, these visits to Garden do Campo Grande provided participants with an enriching experience.Visitors were invited to explore our space in a sensory and relaxed way. They walked along paths surrounded by greenery and aromas, observed textures, asked questions, shared stories and, above all, let themselves be enchanted by the plants around them\u2014many of them already well known and dear to those who have nurtured a lifelong passion for the land.<\/p>\n\n

To mark the occasion, and also as a way to extend the experience beyond the visit, we gave each group tomato, carrot, and Brussels sprout seeds\u2014a symbolic gesture intended to encourage the creation of a small vegetable garden at the care home.We believe that contact with nature is a way to revive memories and promote well-being. For us, welcoming visits is a privilege\u2014not only for the joy they bring, but for the purpose: making Horto do Campo Grande an even more inclusive, human, and welcoming place for everyone.<\/p>\n\n
