Pedro Pulido Valente, Marketing and Communications Director at Horto do Campo Grande (HCG), was sworn in on January 12 as a Member of the UACS Supervisory Board for the 2026\u20132029 term, in a session held in the Noble Hall of Lisbon City Council. The ceremony was chaired by the President of Lisbon City Council, Carlos Moedas, and attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Pedro Machado, reaffirming the importance HCG places on associations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Founded on April 1, 1870, then under the name Lisbon Shopkeepers\u2019 Association, UACS is one of the country\u2019s oldest business associations. Throughout its history it has taken on different names, keeping pace with the evolution of trade and business associations, while always maintaining the same mission: to support and defend trade and services business owners on matters such as commercial leases, labour legislation, taxation and other issues essential to the development of the activity.<\/p>\n\n

In 1991, representing HCG, Pedro Pulido Valente began his involvement in associations as a Board Member of the Association of Traders of Horticultural Products, Fruit, Flowers, Seeds, Plants, Fish and Livestock of the Lisbon district. In 1993, he was elected Vice-President of the Board, a role he held for two terms. In 2004, he took on the Presidency of the Association\u2019s Board, with the aim of strengthening its associative drive and giving a voice to members\u2019 concerns within UACS. During this period, the Association became known as ANCPT \u2013 National Association of Traders of Products of the Land, Fauna and Flora, expanding its scope from regional to national.<\/p>\n\n

In 2011, he was elected a full Director of UACS and served on three boards.His election as a Member of the UACS Supervisory Board shows his dedication and involvement, and strengthens HCG\u2019s contribution and commitment to the associative movement\u2014so important in giving a voice to trade and services business owners in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n
