This Kit includes 1 Horto Collection rectangular planter<\/strong>, designed and produced under the supervision of Horto do Campo Grande professionals. Manufactured using molds and built in fiberglass\u2014a material that is durable, lightweight for its size, and waterproof\u2014it features drainage holes at the base, making it suitable for outdoor environments.<\/p>\n

Inside you’ll find 3 Rosemary plants <\/strong>(Rosmarinus officinalis<\/em>), properly planted and forming a dense, aromatic and highly decorative arrangement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rosemary is a Mediterranean evergreen shrub, naturally well adapted to the Portuguese climate. Its narrow, green and intensely aromatic foliage is widely used in cooking and, when the plant flowers, the small blooms, usually in shades of blue to lilac, add ornamental interest and are highly sought after by bees and other pollinating insects.
Very resistant to sun, heat and periods of drought once established, Rosemary adapts particularly well to gardens, terraces and sunny balconies. It also tolerates coastal environments and relatively poor soils, as long as one essential condition is met: good drainage.<\/p>\n

This set, delivered already planted and ready to place, is a practical solution for decorating outdoor spaces, defining different zones or creating a small aromatic plant barrier<\/strong>. The ability to prune Rosemary regularly allows you to control its size and keep the composition compact over time.<\/p>\n

PLANT CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Light<\/strong>: Prefers full, direct sun. Good sun exposure promotes compact growth, more aromatic foliage and more abundant flowering. Not suitable for permanently shaded locations.
Temperature<\/strong>: Mediterranean plant very well adapted to the climatic conditions of mainland Portugal, including hot, dry summers. It also tolerates low temperatures and moderate frosts, although plants grown in planters are naturally more exposed to extreme temperatures than specimens planted directly in the ground.
Watering<\/strong>: Moderate. During the establishment period, maintain regular watering without waterlogging the substrate. Once established, Rosemary shows good drought resistance. However, as it’s grown in a planter, it should be watered more frequently during the hottest and driest periods of the Portuguese summer. Allow the substrate to dry partially between waterings and always avoid excess water.
Soil\/Substrate<\/strong>: Prefers light and very well-drained substrates and doesn’t need particularly rich soils. Excess water and heavy, permanently moist soils are far more harmful than some dryness. In this Kit, the Rosemary plants are supplied already properly planted in the planter.
Fertilisation<\/strong>: Not very demanding. As it’s permanently grown in a planter, it can benefit from a moderate application of fertilizer suitable for outdoor plants during spring and summer, following the dosages and frequency indicated by the manufacturer. Avoid excessive fertilization.
Pruning\/Maintenance<\/strong>: Tolerates pruning well and can be trimmed regularly to control size and maintain a compact, dense habit. Avoid very deep cuts into old wood without leaves. To preserve flowering, more significant formative pruning should preferably be carried out after flowering.
Flowering<\/strong>: Produces small flowers, usually blue to lilac, very attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. In the Portuguese climate, flowering can occur over quite an extended period, being particularly frequent from spring to early summer and possibly occurring again at other times when conditions are favorable.
Life cycle<\/strong>: Perennial evergreen shrub.
Pet Friendly<\/strong>: Rosemary is considered non-toxic to dogs and cats by the ASPCA. Nevertheless, it’s recommended to prevent animals from ingesting large quantities of any plant material.
Culinary use<\/strong>: Rosemary’s aromatic leaves are widely used as a culinary herb, especially in Mediterranean cooking, to flavor meats, fish, vegetables, potatoes, breads and various other dishes.<\/p>\n
