All are perennial and medium-sized.<br \/>The aspect that most attracts Bonsai enthusiasts is its high resistance (it is common to say that \u201cyou need to take a course to kill a Ficus!\u201d) combined with the beauty of its bark and the aerial roots it can emit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Indoors near a window where it gets 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight per day, without curtains or blinds blocking the light, rotating 180\u00ba weekly. Can be placed outdoors during the warmer months while maintaining 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watering<\/strong>: Water the soil abundantly until plenty of water drains through the drainage holes to evenly moisten the soil, always from above, never by immersion, using a fine-rose watering can (specific for Bonsai).<br \/>Allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between each watering (to check if the plant needs water, touch the soil with your fingers).<br \/>If you have a dish under the Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).<br \/>There is no advantage in spraying the leaves, only do it on the days you fertilise and if the fertiliser is for foliar application, but make sure they arrive dry at night to avoid fungus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Common Name: Ficus Scientific Name: Ficus retusa (several species exist) Description: Belongs to the Moraceae family and is native to China and India.There are several species of Ficus grown in Bonsai, but the care is practically the same.
