It’s ideal for covering walls and fences, or for interior décor. Native to Vietnam, it’s an elegant, versatile plant with easy care, as it doesn’t produce stems/runners as strong and woody as other climbers, nor does it grow in layers that make pruning and maintenance a complex task. Its small, round green leaves are very elegant and perfectly cover surfaces of all shapes and sizes, beautifying balconies, terraces, and gardens and also helping to purify the air around it. In its natural habitat, this fabulous climber grows in tropical forests, blending into dense vegetation, finding support on other plants and trunks, and enjoying mild temperatures, high humidity, and indirect light.

Scientific name: Ficus pumila
Common names: Climbing fig, Creeping fig, Cat’s Claw, Dwarf fig
Origin: Asia
Climate: Tropical
Family: Moraceae
Category: Indoor or outdoor plant
Approximate height: 15cm
Pot diameter: 10cm

CUIDADOS
Light: Grows well in shade or partial shade; bright indirect light is ideal (direct sun only in the morning or late in the day).
Watering: Moderate in the warmer months—especially if it’s in a pot (watch out for saucers with standing water and non-draining decorative pots where water can get trapped). Adjust watering frequency in winter. If it’s outdoors, let nature/rain take care of it, except during periods of moderate/severe drought.
Humidity: As it’s native to tropical forests, it likes environments with high humidity. This is important if you keep it indoors (keep it away from heating/cooling systems and direct sun, and place it closer to the more humid areas of the house). If you keep it outdoors, proper watering will usually be enough, but above all place it in the right sun exposure (north-facing spots are ideal as it can’t handle direct sun).
Temperature: Adapts to mild climates. Outdoors, grown in the ground and once established, it will tolerate our winters well (mainland Portugal).
Fertilising: Use a fertiliser suitable for outdoor plants (if kept outdoors) or indoor plants (if kept indoors) in spring–summer to encourage flowering.
Soil: Thrives in any soil as long as it is cool and fertile.
Pruning: Moderate once established, to control growth and keep the plant healthy.
Not Pet-friendly: This plant is toxic to pets.

WARNING!
