It grows slowly and stays compact, and is popular for its long green leaves with creamy white edges, forming tufts along the stem that give it an elegant, textured look. It’s an ex libris of the “Urban Jungle” trend! An ideal choice for offices, living rooms or spaces with less natural light, or simply to give that corner at home the exotic yet contemporary touch it was missing. Plus, like other Dracaenas, it can purify and refresh the air around it.

Scientific name: Dracaena fragrans ‘Warneckii’ / Dracaena deremensis ‘Warneckii’
Common name: Dracaena
Family: Asparagaceae
Origin: Tropical regions of Africa
Climate: Tropical, Subtropical
Category: Indoor plant
Approximate height: 90cm
Pot diameter: 24cm

CUIDADOS
Light: Prefers abundant indirect light. Does not tolerate direct sun. In very dark locations, growth becomes slow and leaf color less intense.
Temperature: Ideally between 16°C and 25°C. Avoid temperatures below 15°C, as well as drafts.
Watering: Moderate. In summer, keep the soil slightly moist without waterlogging; in winter, let the substrate dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering; don’t leave standing water in saucers or decorative pots to prevent root rot.
Humidity: Performs well in indoor environments with average humidity. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth is a good way to keep leaves hydrated during warmer months and keep the plant looking beautiful.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser or a feed for green plants in spring and summer, following the instructions on the product label. Reduce or suspend in fall/winter.
Pruning: Remove old or damaged leaves at the base. Light pruning to balance shape and prevent uneven growth. All pruning should use clean tools to prevent disease.
Life cycle: Perennial. Slow growth, long life when well cared for indoors, without need for frequent repotting.
Soil: Light, well-drained mix, rich in organic matter. Indoor substrate that includes peat or coco fiber mixed with perlite or sand improves drainage.
Not Pet Friendly: Dracaenas contain compounds that can cause gastrointestinal irritation in pets if ingested.

Fun fact: Dracaena means “Dragon” in Greek and symbolises luck and fortune in Feng Shui.

WARNING!
