Light: It’s the ideal plant to place in shady environments or low indirect light, where another plant would hardly survive. They don\u2019t tolerate full\/direct sun.
Temperature: Ideally 18\u00b0 to 25\u00b0C. It doesn\u2019t tolerate cold or wind (or direct sun), so it should be kept indoors.
Watering: Requires very little water, and can survive several weeks without watering (in winter and in shady, humid environments up to 1 or 2 months). They\u2019re sensitive to rhizome rot and yellowing leaves due to waterlogging. It\u2019s better to let it get thirsty than to overwater.
Soil: Well-drained substrate (for example, in a pot it should have a 5-10cm layer of expanded clay at the base to ensure soil drainage and avoid waterlogging), rich in organic matter. Repot every 2 or 3 years, gradually\u2014don\u2019t go from a very small pot to a very large one\u2014so there\u2019s more space and better distribution of available nutrients in the roots, and because this plant likes to feel a bit snug.
Pruning: Only yellow and dead leaves and\/or dry branches should be removed.
Not pet-friendly: It’s a toxic plant for pets. All parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested.<\/p>\n
