Bougainvilleas are ornamental climbers with huge visual impact, much loved for their lush flowering\u2014especially this one, with a less common orange-tinged shade and long-lasting blooms. Associated with Mediterranean landscapes, they are frequently used to cover pergolas, walls, arches and facades, creating true displays of colour for much of the year.
Although pink and purple tones are the best known, there are also varieties with white, orange, red and other vibrant bracts. This variety is particularly interesting because the bract colour (the scientific name for the \u201cflowers\u201d) is rarer: a pink that leans towards orange, almost \u201cfire\u201d\u2014a colour much loved and sought after by plant lovers.
<\/strong>With vigorous growth and high resistance to heat and drought once established, this Bougainvillea can also be trained as a climber or an informal hedge. To keep it in shrub form, as shown here, it will need regular pruning.
If you want to let it grow freely, when planted directly in the ground and given suitable support, it can reach between 5 and 10 m in height, forming dense, very floriferous structures.
<\/strong>It\u2019s an excellent choice for gardens, terraces, patios and sunny outdoor spaces, where it brings an incredible, long-lasting splash of colour, texture and a typically Mediterranean feel, with low maintenance needs.<\/p>\n

CUIDADOS<\/strong>
Light<\/strong>: This plant needs direct sunlight. It loves full sun and prefers a south-facing position (shady areas or north-facing spots will reduce flowering).
Temperature<\/strong>: Does not tolerate intense or prolonged frosts. In regions with harsher winters, it is recommended to protect the plant with thermal fleece or place it in a sheltered location. Cold resistance increases as the plant develops and becomes well rooted.
Watering<\/strong>: Moderate, avoid waterlogging. As temperatures drop, space out watering; in winter, only water when the soil is completely dry. If keeping the plant in a pot or planter, watch out for saucers or pots without drainage holes where irrigation or rainwater can become trapped, encouraging root rot.
Soil<\/strong>: Fertile and well-draining. It\u2019s not very demanding, although it prefers loose, fertile soil\/substrate that doesn\u2019t retain excess water.
Fertilising<\/strong>: During the flowering season, add liquid or granular fertiliser to the watering water, suitable for outdoor flowering plants, following the manufacturer\u2019s instructions.
Pruning<\/strong>: Pruning is recommended at the end of winter to control growth, stimulate branching and encourage more abundant flowering.
