The Horto do Campo Grande Group is expanding its presence across Portugal, taking over the management and operation of Espaço Sudoeste in Vila Nova de Milfontes, now under the name Horto do Campo Grande – Southwest.
The coordination of this new space will be led by Inês Piano (ip@hortodocampogrande.com), and will be accompanied by a carefully renewed offering, bringing in the group’s experience without losing the connection to the identity and relationships built by Espaço Sudoeste since its foundation.
Founded in May 2001, this garden centre was designed to meet local needs, encourage contact with nature, and showcase a wide diversity of species. Over the years, it has become a meeting point for the community, gardening and technical know-how, with a dedicated team that will remain in place, providing personalised advice and service.
A project rooted in Southwest Alentejo
Located in a region known for its agricultural potential and fertile soil, Garden Sudoeste benefits from the natural surroundings and rural character of Vila Nova de Milfontes and the Alentejo coast.
This new space fully aligns with Horto do Campo Grande’s mission: supporting those who grow, care for and value nature, whether at home, in business or in agriculture. Its strategic location enables an effective response to the demands of the agricultural sector, which is growing rapidly in the region, ensuring suitable solutions and specialised technical support.
A new phase, with more to offer
This new phase of Garden Sudoeste will translate into a more complete offering, better tailored to the needs of customers in the region. Joining the Horto do Campo Grande universe brings a significant expansion of the range, with a special focus on décor items; a wide selection of indoor and outdoor pots; own-brand products, both in substrates and the Horto Collection brand, made up of fibreglass planters in different shapes and sizes, with colour customisation options; as well as made-to-measure sheet-metal planters with an anti-corrosion finish—suited to the environment where they will be placed. Within this brand you can also find other sheet-metal products such as trellises, pergolas and benches, as well as various wooden products, from tables and benches to planters. Options designed to suit different tastes, styles, and types of spaces and settings.
While maintaining the identity and ties established over the years by Espaço Sudoeste, this new management also brings the possibility of accessing all products already available in the group’s other shops (in-store and online) and garden centres, as well as all services, with the same quality, variety and customer focus that define Horto do Campo Grande.
Focus on agriculture
Given the garden centre’s location in an area with a strong agricultural presence and growing momentum in the sector, special attention will be given to strengthening the range of products and solutions aimed at agriculture. To support this essential area, the space will have technical support from Eng. Mário Oliveira (mo@hortodocampogrande.com)—part of the Horto do Campo Grande team—who will provide specialised technical guidance, helping identify the most suitable solutions for each type of crop or agricultural project.
This technical support, combined with the quality of the offering, aims to respond effectively to the demands of local producers, with practical proposals adapted to the region’s specific conditions. All services will remain available, such as the installation of property fencing and windbreaks, wooden support structures, and the supply of specialised accessories, particularly for berry crops, a segment clearly expanding in Southwest Alentejo.
