We share some of the initiatives supported by Horto do Campo Grande throughout the month of June.
HORTO DO CAMPO GRANDE BRINGS NATURE TO THE FIRST EDITION OF THE ARTBEAT FAIR

From 27 to 29 June 2025, the Cordoaria Nacional in Lisbon hosted the first edition of the ArtBeat Fair, a new international contemporary art fair that promises to combine visual arts, performance and music in an unmissable sensory experience.
Organised at Torreão Poente, this exhibition brings together 50 artists from more than 15 countries, with works spanning painting, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, collage, installation and new visual languages. The event also featured a diverse musical line-up, with live performances of classical music, electronic music and traditional African instruments, curated by Luís Mesquita.
Horto do Campo Grande joined the ArtBeat Fair under the motto “Nature – our best inspiration”, taking on the challenge of creating an environment where art coexists with the harmonious presence of plants. The intervention includes the natural decoration of the event space, with carefully selected species, and a photowall with natural plants, created with a Horto Collection support, which invites all visitors to enjoy, record and share their visit to the fair.
“This partnership reinforces the mission of Horto do Campo Grande, by integrating greenery into urban and cultural contexts, showing the fundamental role that nature plays in the aesthetics, experience and well-being of those who create, visit and live surrounded by nature.
The presence of Horto do Campo Grande at ArtBeat thus aims to embody a simple and essential idea: nature is also a form of expression,” says Joaquim Silveira General Director of Horto do Campo Grande.
With free admission, ArtBeat Fair is an accessible, inclusive fair that represents the creative diversity of what is being done today in Portugal and around the world.
HORTO DO CAMPO GRANDE SUPPORTED FNA 2025

At the 2025 edition of the National Agriculture Fair (FNA), Ribatejo Fair, which took place from 7 to 15 June at CNEMA in Santarém, Horto do Campo Grande was responsible for decorating the exterior of the main entrance to the event. In addition to refurbishing the outdoor flower beds, the project involved creating the fair’s symbol – “FNA” – using real crops, creating a living logo that symbolises the integration of innovation into the production process and the central role of agriculture in Portugal. This entrance highlighted the importance of biosolutions (the central theme of the fair) and reinforced the link between innovation and the “soil” we cultivate. FNA 2025 was the stage for debate on sustainable agricultural practices, new technologies, the promotion of biodiversity and efficiency in the use of resources.
This support reveals Horto do Campo Grande’s commitment to being present at events that mark the primary sector and to valuing the knowledge that makes national agriculture grow in a sustainable way.

2025 INTERNATIONAL LUSITANO HORSE FESTIVAL

The International Lusitano Horse Festival took place at the Manuel Possolo Racetrack in Cascais between 27 and 29 June, an event of enormous importance on the national and international calendar, which Horto do Campo Grande supported. Organised by the APSL (Portuguese Association of Purebred Lusitano Horse Breeders), with the support of the Cascais City Council, the festival brought together numerous participants in various competitions and is considered the world’s largest event dedicated to the Lusitano horse breed.
Horto do Campo Grande also graciously supported the decoration of the stand of the Associação das Amazonas de Portugal (Association of Amazonas of Portugal), an association that keeps alive the culture and tradition of Portuguese horse riding.
The Associação das Amazonas de Portugal revived the Amazona riding style in Portugal, the way women rode horses until around 1930, when they began to straddle (ride like men).
Portuguese Equestrian Art is Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
After Portuguese horsemanship was included in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage on 28 April 2021, “Portuguese Equestrian Art” was approved as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity during the 19th session of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Asunción, Paraguay, and attended by a Portuguese delegation including Rosa Batoréu, Portugal’s Ambassador to UNESCO (Paris); João Ralão, Secretary-General of APSL; and Luís Calaim, Administrator of Parques de Sintra.
Equestrian art originated in Portugal as a cause and consequence of the existence of the horse, which naturally inspired it and through which it was continuously perfected. The principles of equestrian art in Portugal are based on the utmost respect for the animal and its well-being. It can be concluded that the unique characteristics of our horse were fundamental to the emergence of Portuguese horsemanship, and this in turn was fundamental to its selection.
Portuguese horsemanship is practised throughout the country and has a huge international presence, thanks to the existence of Lusitano Horse Associations in 21 countries, which are fundamental to its promotion and proximity to breeders and practitioners around the world.
BANCO BEBÉ CELEBRATES WITH BUSH BASIL FROM HORTO DO CAMPO GRANDE

It was with great satisfaction that Horto do Campo Grande joined Banco do Bebé at its summer meeting, an event marked by joy, sharing and celebration of the love that drives everyone involved in this cause.
The bush basil plants offered to all volunteers, provided by HCG for a symbolic amount to Banco do Bebé, reinforce the recognition of the work carried out by the institution and the dedication of the volunteers, in a gesture that, like bush basil, symbolises friendship, good luck and hope, reinforcing Horto do Campo Grande’s commitment to supporting charitable causes that make a difference in the lives of many families.
