From 28 to 31 January 2025, Essen, Germany, became the meeting point for professionals in the horticulture sector. The most recent edition of IPM Essen, the largest international trade fair for professionals in the sector, welcomed more than 40,000 visitors from all over the world and was visited by a team of professionals from Horto do Campo Grande.

An event that combined the sharing of ideas, networking and a lot of inspiration, where professionals in the sector had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and debate the main themes addressed – sustainability, the environment and future trends – and where practical solutions were presented for global challenges such as climate change, the scarcity of resources and ecological production through approaches that combine creativity and innovation.

- Addenda Growers Association: has brought a real innovation, the “White Portenschlagiana Campanula” plant, a must-have for all gardens, terraces or balconies due to its imposing appearance in a rounded shape. It combines a pure, bright colour with impressive properties.

- Agro Floral Peru: presented the new “Andes Amaryllis” wax brand and line. The amaryllis waxes are produced in their own fields in southern Peru and create natural flower bulbs capable of blooming without the need for soil/planting and watering, since the energy and water they need are already inside the bulbs. The use of a delicate layer of wax protects the bulb from dehydration, allowing for better quality.

Nature’s Green
During the fair, Nature’s Green presented NextGen Living Walls, in the Natural Walls version and the new Artificial Walls.
NextGen Living Walls are living masterpieces that can be integrated into any space, both indoors and outdoors, and can even be used with hydroponic plants or in soil. Easy to install (they are presented in a modular system) and maintain (they are equipped with a 4-week watering cycle), these living walls can also be applied as a partition, immediately making a big impact on the decor of the space and helping to create inspiring environments of total relaxation.
Natural Walls are made from various natural materials in different forms: carpets, panels, moss ceiling tiles (also in circular form), BioMontage and can be applied as room dividers..
The moss carpet made a big impact on visitors due to its flexibility and the enormous ease with which it can be applied in different ways.
The Artificial Walls also stood out: handmade, without repetitive patterns, they offer total coverage and have the following characteristics: Fire resistance class B, UV protection, no mirror effect, 6 exclusive designs, easy to customise, lightweight, all shapes are possible, can be installed anywhere.
This year’s programme offered a huge variety of conferences and talks, such as the “Pure Perfection Passion Show”, which brought renowned international experts and floral designers to the stage, including Hanake Frankema, Tom de Houwer and Krisztian Kövér.
Germany’s best florists also came together to present “Spring-Fever”, a show sharing ideas and floristry tips for spring. 2025 has been defined as the year of weddings, and so proposals for floral arrangements for weddings were exhibited by industry professionals such as Victoria Salamon and Patricia Jung. In addition, the world’s leading horticulture fair was also the scene of numerous awards ceremonies where sustainability was highlighted with the presentation of various honours to “green projects”.
