Jam Lisboa

Committed to sustainability and social responsibility, a growing trend in the hotel industry, JAM Hotels presents a unique and innovative approach with a collection of simple, urban hotels.simple, urban hotels. Each hotel adapts to theroots of the city where it is located, with a touch of surprise, festivity, and comfortable sustainability.

Jam Lisboa is the result of the complete renovation of an office building dating from the 1960s. Located in the heart of Lisbon, on the banks of the Tagus, this project offers various connections to the city. With variable geometry, comprising 100 rooms, the ground floor is connected to the city, with a coworking space and a restaurant, Mojjo, which serves traditional Portuguese cuisine. The top floor features a relaxing pool and a rooftop facing the river, with a bar where guests can enjoy tapas and drinks at Cabana, while admiring the modern tiles by Bela Silva.

More than a living experience or a journey through the city, this hotel is a proposal for conscious tourism.

It is a project that puts sustainable values into practice, both in the renovation and in the hotel management of the Jam Hotels group, where guests are encouraged to adopt an environmentally responsible attitude while enjoying the beauty of the city.

Walking along the pavement, next to the Jam Lisboa façade, which leads us to the entrance, we are surprised by an outdoor area in colored concrete in pink tones, which houses a set of planters forming charming corners, where guests can enjoy a pleasant outdoor area. For this floor, a selection of plants with an exuberant and decorative character was made. Plants with great visual impact, from tropical climates that, with their different textures, colors, and shapes, project nature and integrate into the decoration of these common areas. The multiple galvanized steel planters with wheels indoors, and the wonderful ceramic pots by artist Bela Silva, filled with life, conveying freshness and tranquility to all these environments.

On the top floor, with a privileged view of the Tagus River, the selection of plants focused essentially on maritime climate species, not only for their resistance and good adaptation to this type of climate, but also for the lower maintenance they require, since they are located in areas that are more difficult to access.

It is on this floor that the rooftop embracing the pool is located. For some of the planters that are part of the space’s decoration, the Horto do Campo Grande team selected Mediterranean plants, resistant to the weather conditions that an exposed terrace requires, and introduced some aromatic plants, such as mint, with the aim of being used in the bar and in the cocktails served to guests enjoying the pool.

Considering that much of this floor is occupied by technical areas, where, for example, air conditioning equipment is located, around 120 custom-made Horto Collection planters were produced and installed, with which it was possible to disguise these areas. These customized planters, both in terms of format and finish, suited to the locations and conditions to which they will be exposed (painted with special paint resistant to high salinity climates for greater longevity), received plantings of various species that also enhanced the building’s own façade.
