Over more than 40 years of activity, Horto do Campo Grande has created true bonds of friendship with private, institutional, and corporate clients—relationships that take on a special symbolism at this time of year. During the Christmas season, many people visit our garden centers—Campo Grande, Quinta da Eira, and Fernão Ferro—in search of special ornaments, inspiring pieces, or decorative elements to transform their homes and organizations into places where Christmas magic happens.

It was during these visits, which are so special to us, that we invited some of our customers to share their Christmas memories with us, as well as the elements that simply cannot be missing from their holiday decor this year.

Patrícia Catalão, architect and interior designer, shares with us the Christmas elements that stand out in her home.

In my home, the Christmas tree is the element that stands out most in the decor this season, and it’s always placed in the living room, next to a window.

Decorating the Christmas tree is a task shared with the family, always done with a set of ornaments I’ve collected over the years, which bring back a host of good memories. But every year the Christmas tree takes on a different theme through color and texture; therefore, new decorative elements are added to reinforce the chosen theme, and with them, new memories are created for the years to come. Throughout the house, especially in the hall and living room, I like to place pine and eucalyptus branches that release their soft, natural scent across the various areas.

Candles, which are a decorative element I like to keep all year round, gain even greater visibility and presence during the Christmas season.
