In the year marking the 50th anniversary of the April 25, 1974 Revolution, the Lisbon Museum has been promoting several exhibitions that highlight this historic milestone from different perspectives. As part of these celebrations, Horto do Campo Grande was invited to take part in a very special event next October 5, the date that marks the establishment of the Republic.

From 10am to 6pm, the gardens of Palácio Pimenta will be open to the public to pay tribute to the moments of change and renewal that are part of the city’s and the country’s history. As part of this celebration, our presence takes on a very special character with the initiative “A Revolution of Flowers”, brought to life through a personalised flower stall decorated with plants, featuring many red carnation plants.

Inspired by the exhibition “Lisbon in Revolution 1383-1974”, currently on display at the museum, Horto do Campo Grande’s contribution symbolises the transformation and hope that flowers—especially red carnations—represent in Portuguese history and society. We therefore invite all visitors to stop by the stall, where they can symbolically hold a red carnation and share that moment with a photo on social media.

By taking part in this exhibition, Horto do Campo Grande reinforces its commitment to preserving our collective memory and supporting culture as an integral part of its social responsibility policy.
