Well known for its flat, fleshy green leaves with yellow edges, the Sansevieria trifasciata is widely used in interior decoration. A classic yet modern plant, hardy and easy to care for, it is ideal for beginners or those who can’t devote much time to caring for plants. This indoor plant is also known as St George’s Sword, due to the appearance of its strong, upright, sword-shaped leaves. Its ability to purify the air makes it an excellent choice for use in the bedroom or in poorly ventilated spaces.
Temperature: In summer the Sansevieria trifasciata can withstand temperatures of up to 24 degrees Celsius and in winter up to 18 degrees Celsius. The plant tolerates temperature drops to 10 degrees, but in dry places.
Type of substrate: although the Sansevieria trifasciata is a hardy plant, it is advisable to use a substrate with good drainage and rich in nutrients so that the plant remains healthy.
Not pet friendly: Sansevieria Laurentii is considered toxic to pets if ingested in large quantities. It is therefore important to keep the plant out of the reach of animals.
Fertilisation: The Sansevieria Laurentii does not need frequent fertilisation. A slow-release fertiliser applied in spring and summer is enough to provide the plant with the necessary nutrients.
