At Horto do Campo Grande we have developed an aid policy that favours social action projects linked to areas of poverty or serious social problems. We also extend our support to other cultural and sporting institutions.
Founded in 1984 by surgeon Fernando Nobre, AMI was created to intervene in humanitarian crisis situations worldwide. Although the “missions” are its best-known aspect, in 1995 the organization began a social support program for the homeless and families in need in Portugal: the “Porta Amiga” (Friendly Door), which has counted on our support.
With the motto “Helping today so that tomorrow is possible”, the Association’s mission is to provide a space for sharing experiences, information and personalised support for women and men with breast cancer.
The Association’s aim is to defend and support breast cancer patients at all stages of the disease, namely pre- and post-surgery, inpatient and outpatient, to promote a better quality of life and also to provide support for family and friends.
A Portuguese non-profit organization that aims to continuously promote the well-being of children, young people, and adults through three distinct programs: Transformative Dreams, Dream Workshop, and WeGuide. “We are caregivers who believe there are no impossibilities and we facilitate all dimensions of well-being and health—mental, physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual.”
Through its programs, the institution supports, cares for, and empowers people, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. It helps those who are most vulnerable, whether a child with a serious illness, a young person in care away from their family of origin, or an adult with chronic illness, always working to improve the well-being of those it supports.
Banco do BebĂ© – Associação de Ajuda ao RecĂ©m-Nascido – is a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS) created on 26 May 1996 and which systematically supports children from the families of users of the Dr. Alfredo da Costa Maternity Hospital who face economic, social, and developmental problems in their daily lives.
Horto do Campo Grande has partnered with CECD de Mira Sintra and the “Solidarity Plants” project. Our support consists of creating jobs so that the users of this Center can be integrated into the professional market, thereby promoting the equal opportunities that guide our actions.
As a result of this partnership, Solidarity Plants can be found at the Garden Centers belonging to Horto do Campo Grande. By purchasing these plants, you are supporting people who suffer from intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other limitations, promoting their rights and contributing to improving their quality of life.
Since 1996 we have supported the work of the Campo Grande Social and Parish Centre, which networks with the community to find appropriate social responses to each situation, keeping an eye on the signs of the times and the consequences of changes in the social structure and trying to update its action in the service of those who need it most, with a preferential option for the weakest and poorest.
Our professional team at the Quinta da Eira Garden Centre includes young people and adults from the Cascais Cooperative for the Education and Rehabilitation of Disabled Citizens, thus corroborating the culture of inclusion that we defend within the company.
It is a Private Social Solidarity Institution, with legal and civil personality, non-profit, and supervised by the Patriarchate of Lisbon. This reference organization focuses its activity on creating and promoting responses to the needs and potential of people who are homeless or in situations of social vulnerability, helping them recover their dignity and (re)build their life project through integrated prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration action.
This association was set up in 2006 by a group of more than 100 entrepreneurs and managers in Portugal in response to the call launched to civil society by the then President of the Republic, Professor AnĂbal Cavaco Silva, for a commitment to social inclusion that would involve political forces, institutions, local authorities and civil society organisations. Since its foundation, EPIS has had Engineer Diogo Simões Pereira as its director-general. The Association works in close partnership with the Ministry of Education, Regional Governments and Local Authorities across the country and has had the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, since 2016.
The Gil Foundation has existed since 1999 and its mission is to promote the clinical, social and emotional well-being of sick children and young people by creating support structures that enable them to improve their quality of life, speed up their return to their families in some cases and dream of the possibility of fully recovering their life projects.
Ever since its creation, the institution has focused on areas of social emptiness where both the state and other institutions have yet to provide answers, thus becoming a pioneer in the development of paediatric health and social reintegration projects, such as Casa do Gil and Home Support.
Because children don’t belong in hospital, the Gil Foundation has had the support of Horto do Campo Grande since it was founded.
“The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant wishes to children and young people, from 3 to 17 years old, throughout the country, with serious, progressive, degenerative, or malignant illnesses, providing them with a moment of strength, joy, and hope. Make-A-Wish works with the aim of bringing the greatest possible joy in fulfilling its mission, always trying to meet the way children think and feel, granting a wish to each eligible child. Believing in the transformative power of granting a wish, it combines the work of Make-A-Wish® with the creativity of each child/young person, enriching all parties involved with positive emotions and memories.”
The Portuguese League Against Cancer is a national reference in supporting cancer patients and their families, promoting health, preventing cancer and encouraging training and research in oncology.
As such, this organisation has always deserved our support, both financially and logistically, in the activities it promotes.
The SĂŁo Carlos National Theatre, inaugurated on June 30, 1793, remains the only national theater dedicated to the production and presentation of opera and choral and symphonic music.
Horto do Campo Grande stands alongside Portuguese Culture, providing its sponsorship to this cultural institution.
Created for the “recreation and instruction” of its visitors, the Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves House-Museum brings together the works of art that were collected by ophthalmologist Anastácio Gonçalves since 1932, when he acquired the house. In a building from the beginning of the last century, various types of works are exhibited permanently or temporarily, both national and from abroad, from paintings to furniture or porcelain. Reopened in 1997 after renovations designed to better welcome visitors, the House-Museum now fully embraces its role as a space for sharing and culture. In addition to preserving and exhibiting its collection, its mission is to promote art by organizing various activities and cultural experiences with public participation, such as guided tours, courses, or concerts. From Tuesday (from 2 PM) to Sunday (from 10 AM), until 6 PM, permanent exhibitions as well as numerous temporary exhibitions are open to the public.
Unable to remain indifferent to the great difficulties faced by some sports institutions, Horto do Campo Grande supports the youngest and least visible age groups in various sports.
The SetĂşbal Skating Association, recognized as an “Institution of Public Utility” in the Official Gazette No. 45 Series II of February 23, 2000, was founded on June 1, 1987, by the will of the District’s clubs that were affiliated with the Lisbon and Alentejo Associations.
Since 2014, Horto do Campo Grande has supported the Benjamin Hockey Team (7/8 years old).
The origins of the Education and Recreation Society “Os Unidos de Leceia” (SERUL) date back to the early 1940s, and from the mid-1970s SERUL began to incorporate sports activities into its programs.
Thanks to everyone’s commitment, SERUL is today a recognized entity in the Futsal scene where, in the 2012/2013 season, it won the Cup and Super Cup of the Lisbon Football Association, unique trophies among community organizations and clubs in the Municipality of Oeiras, having competed in the 3rd National Division Championship in the 2013/2014 season. Horto do Campo Grande supports this Futsal team.
