Between May 21 and 24, 2026, the Campo Grande Hippodrome once again hosted one of the most emblematic events on the international equestrian calendar: the Al Shira’aa CSIO 3* Lisbon. This competition, part of the international show jumping circuit, brought together around 75 riders, 150 horses, and thousands of visitors, consolidating its relevance in the European sporting landscape.

Organized by the Portuguese Equestrian Society (SHP), in partnership with Oxer Sport, CSIO Lisbon is recognized as one of the oldest international competitions in the world, with editions held continuously since the early 20th century. Over more than a century, this event has established itself as a meeting point between tradition, sporting excellence, and connection to the city of Lisbon, remaining in the same location since 1911.
The Portuguese Equestrian Society, founded in 1910, plays a central role in the development of equestrian sports in Portugal, being responsible for training riders and organizing prestigious competitions. The Campo Grande Hippodrome, where it has been active since 1930, continues to be a reference space for the practice and promotion of this sport.

As part of the 2026 edition, Horto do Campo Grande once again partnered with the event, continuing a long-standing collaboration with the Portuguese Equestrian Society. The intervention focused on enhancing the different areas of the venue through the provision of plants and natural elements that contributed to creating a more refined environment in harmony with the surroundings.
On the competition arena, pairs of medium-sized plants were integrated, placed in white Horto Collection fiberglass planters, designed to complement the obstacles and enhance the visual component of the event, always maintaining the balance between aesthetics and functionality. In the areas designated for guests and sponsors, arrangements were provided for centerpieces and larger plants were placed, creating a more welcoming atmosphere.

The presence of natural elements throughout the event not only enhanced the experience of participants and visitors, but also strengthened the connection between sport, urban space, and nature, in a context where detail and ambiance play a decisive role.
This collaboration is part of an ongoing relationship with the Portuguese Equestrian Society and accompanies the evolution of the event itself, which anticipates progressive growth in the coming years, with an upgrade in category on the international circuit.
“It is with great satisfaction that we continue to collaborate with an institution with the history and relevance of the Portuguese Equestrian Society. HCG’s presence at this type of event allows us to contribute to enhancing spaces through nature, strengthening our connection to initiatives that are part of the city’s identity,” says Pedro Pulido Valente, Marketing and Public Relations Director at Horto do Campo Grande.
