IPM ESSEN 2025:
KNOWLEDGE, INNOVATION AND FUTURE TRENDS

Between January 28 and 31, 2025, Essen, Germany, became the meeting point for professionals in the horticulture sector. The latest edition of IPM Essen, the largest international trade fair for industry professionals, welcomed more than 40,000 visitors from all over the world, and included a visit from a team of professionals from Horto do Campo Grande.

An event that combined idea sharing, networking, and plenty of inspiration, where industry professionals had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and discuss key themes—sustainability, the environment, and future trends—and where practical solutions were presented for global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, and ecological production through approaches that combine creativity and innovation.

Featured exhibitor stands
More than 1,000 stands were present in the areas of plants, technology, floriculture, and gardening, showcasing a unique variety of differentiating products and services.

• Addenda Growers Association: brought a true innovation, the “White Campanula Portenschlagiana” plant, a must-have for all gardens, terraces, or balconies due to its impressive rounded appearance. It combines a pure, bright color with impressive properties.
  
• Anthura: presented “Melodia Red”, a plant with intense, deep red flowers that immediately catches the eye. Melodia produces a high number of flowers that bloom above the plant’s foliage, making it even more attractive. Melodia Red can be grown in pot sizes 14, 17, and larger.

• Agvolution (CLIMAVI Bewässerung & Frost): surprised with “Climavi Soil”, a new sensor with patented technology capable of accurately monitoring important environmental elements such as soil moisture, temperature, and microclimate at three different measurement depths.

• Innok Robotics: brought “Rainos”, an electric robot that moves autonomously to irrigation areas, providing the necessary amount of water, making it a more economical solution compared to manual watering. It runs for up to 14 hours in any green space, dispenses up to 20,000 liters per day, and waters at night without any disturbing noise.

• Agro Floral Peru: presented the new brand and wax line “Andes Amaryllis”. The amaryllis waxes are produced in their own fields in southern Peru and create natural flower bulbs capable of blooming without the need for soil/planting or watering, as the energy and water they need are already inside the bulbs. The use of a delicate layer of wax protects the bulb from dehydration, allowing for better quality.

Nature’s Green

During the fair, Nature’s Green presented the NextGen Living Walls, in the Natural Walls version and the new Artificial Walls.

The NextGen Living Walls are living masterpieces that integrate into any space, both indoors and outdoors, and even allow for the use of hydroponic or soil-based plants. Easy to install (presented in a modular system) and maintain (equipped with a 4-week watering cycle), these living walls can also be used as room dividers, immediately creating a great impact on the space’s decoration and helping to create inspiring environments for total relaxation.



The Natural Walls are made from various natural materials in different forms: mats, panels, moss ceiling tiles (also in circular form), BioMontage, and can be applied as room dividers.
The moss mat made a big impact on visitors due to its flexibility and the great ease with which it can be applied in different ways.

The Artificial Walls also stood out: Handmade, without repetitive patterns, they offer full coverage and feature the following characteristics: Fire resistance class B, UV protection, no mirror effect, 6 exclusive designs, easy to customize, lightweight, all shapes are possible, and they can be installed anywhere.

This year’s program offered a huge diversity of conferences and lectures such as the “Pure Perfection Passion Show”, which brought renowned international experts and floral designers to the stage, including Hanneke Frankema, Tom de Houwer, and Krisztian Kövér.

Germany’s best florists also joined for the presentation of “Spring-Fever”, a show sharing floristry ideas and tips for Spring. 2025 was defined as the year of weddings, and therefore, wedding floral arrangement proposals were showcased by industry professionals like Victoria Salamon and Patricia Jung. In addition, the world’s leading horticulture trade fair was also the stage for numerous award ceremonies where sustainability took center stage with the presentation of several distinctions to “green projects”.
