Crassula arborescens, also known as the Silver Jade Plant or Silver Dollar Plant, is a shrubby succulent with fleshy, rounded, deep green leaves. It grows relatively slowly but, if planted in the ground under ideal conditions, it can reach several metres in height. It forms a robust and sculptural plant that is hardy and very easy to maintain. It’s perfect for bright interiors, gardens, large pots, or outdoors, provided it’s protected from heavy rain, cold, and frost, as it prefers mild climates. CUIDADOS
Light: Grows well in areas with plenty of bright, indirect light (direct sun only in the morning or late in the day).
Watering: Infrequent – water only when the substrate is completely dry, as it dislikes constantly moist soil. Reduce watering frequency in winter. Watch out for standing water in saucers and avoid decorative pots without drainage holes where water can collect. If outdoors, place in a spot sheltered from excess water during winter.
Temperature: Ideally 15–25 °C. Adapts to mild climates. If kept outdoors, it should be placed in a sheltered spot during the coldest months, as it doesn’t like frost.
Fertilising: Use a fertiliser suitable for succulents, following the instructions on the product label.
Soil: Use a substrate suitable for cacti and succulents.
Not Pet-friendly: This succulent contains toxic compounds and should be kept out of reach of pets that show interest in it or plants in general.
