Kalanchoe tomentosa nigra is a fuzzy succulent, also known as the Panda Plant or Cat Ears. Native to Madagascar, its soft, grey-green leaves are covered in fine hairs and feature grey-purple or dark brown margins and tips. Like many other succulents, it requires a light substrate, plenty of light (preferring morning or late afternoon sun), and moderate watering. It is sensitive to low temperatures and belongs to the group of plants that help purify the air by filtering out toxins.

Light: Place it in a spot with plenty of indirect light or partial shade (direct sun only during the morning).
Watering: Moderate! Allow the top of the soil to dry out completely (not just the surface) between waterings, especially in colder months, to avoid waterlogging and root rot. Ensure adequate drainage and do not let water sit in the saucer or in a decorative pot without drainage holes. In summer, watering can be more frequent.
Temperature: Tolerates mild temperatures well (12-25°C), so it will thrive indoors. Withstands low temperatures down to about 8-10°C, but should not drop below 5°C. Avoid excess humidity, especially at low temperatures (it does not enjoy very high humidity like other tropical plants).
Soil: Use a porous substrate with good drainage, ideally a specific mix for cacti and succulents.
Fertilisation: Fertilise once a month during spring, using a product suitable for cacti and succulents.
