Leyland Cypress - Cupressus leylandii (17 cm pot)
Cupressus leylandii is a hybrid resulting from a cross between Cupressus macrocarpa and Chamaecyparis nootkatensis. The result is this vigorous-growing cypress, resistant to disease and harsh weather conditions, and it also tolerates a wide range of soil types. It’s a green-foliage plant that keeps its colour for almost the whole year and, thanks to its characteristics (namely fast growth and wind resistance), it’s a very versatile conifer: it’s used to create hedges/living fences, and it’s also an excellent option as a windbreak, to provide privacy, or to define areas in outdoor spaces. As it’s elegant and beautiful, it can be planted on its own, but it’s also commonly used to create living sculptures.

Light: Needs full sun, but tolerates partial shade.
Watering: Water regularly. It’s not very tolerant of dry spells.
Temperature: Likes temperate climates and withstands low temperatures (down to -24°C).
Pruning: Doesn’t need regular pruning, but you can trim and shape it to keep the size and form you want. During the growing season, it needs trimming two to three times.
Soil: Adapts to a wide range of soil/substrate types.
Not pet friendly: May be toxic to pets. So it’s best to keep it out of reach and supervise if you’re unsure.

To ensure that you receive the products in the best condition, only one delivery is planned. We suggest that you choose a day and time when someone will be at home to receive the parcel, provide a phone number to contact you and put any information you find useful in the comments.
