With intense flowering and exuberant colors (though pink/violet is most common, red, white, or orange varieties are also frequent), they create stunning scenic effects typical of the Mediterranean. Flower bracts cluster at the branch tips from early spring to winter, so having a Bougainvillea in your garden or terrace guarantees color for most of the year.
