Light: Grows best in full sun and flowers more abundantly in these conditions.
Temperature: Ideally 18–24 °C during active growth. It can withstand slightly lower temperatures (around 10 °C), but heavy frosts can damage the plant, so it should be protected during the colder months, especially if kept in pots or on balconies.
Watering: Likes moderate watering. Once established, it can tolerate some drought and prefers the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Fertilising: Apply a slow-release fertiliser in early spring and again in summer to encourage growth and flowering.
Pruning: Chamomile grows well on its own, keeping a rounded, compact shape, and doesn’t need frequent shaping. However, you can regularly remove faded flowers, as this extends flowering (great for looks and for infusions!). At the end of the flowering season, you can also cut the plant back close to the base to encourage new growth next season.
Soil: Light, sandy or sandy-loam substrates/soils, with a slightly alkaline pH, always well-drained. It tolerates low to moderately fertile soils. What it really can’t tolerate is waterlogging! Watch out for saucers with standing water or decorative pots without drainage holes, as they prevent excess water from draining and encourage root rot.

Fun fact: It belongs to the Asteraceae family—the same family as daisies, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers—known for composite “head” flowers that are often aromatic. It’s a great option if you want an aromatic garden that’s pet-safe, while also supporting biodiversity and pollinators.

Yes, you can choose to pick up your products at one of our 3 Garden Centers (Campo Grande, Quinta da Eira-Sintra, and Fernão Ferro).
After the order is shipped, the system sends an email to the address provided by the customer with the tracking number from CTT, our distribution partner, so you can track the order.
To ensure you receive the products in the best condition, only one delivery attempt is planned. We suggest you choose a day and time when someone will be home to receive the order, provide a contact phone number, and include any useful instructions in the notes.

For legal reasons, when plants leave our Garden Centers, their phytosanitary passport loses its validity, so they cannot be placed back into the commercial circuit. Therefore, we cannot exchange or accept returns for plants or flowers.

After receiving the product, you have 14 days to communicate your intent to return it (Article 10 of Decree-Law No. 24/2014); after communication, you have another 14 days to send the product.
