Description:
Gomphrena globosa is an annual or short perennial herbaceous plant with a
compact size and globose shape. The flowers are dry, dense,
scentless globes with an intense purple color that remains
even after drying. The foliage is light green,
lanceolate and slightly pubescent.
Care:
Light: It needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. In shady areas,
flowering is substantially reduced.
Temperature: Grows well between 15 °C and 25 °C, but is sensitive
to frost. In cold climates it behaves as an annual,
while in warmer areas it can persist as a perennial.
Watering: After initial planting, water regularly when
the soil is dry. Although drought-tolerant once established,
moderate humidity improves development and flowering.
Humidity: Prefers well-drained soil; does not like waterlogged soil.
Tolerates drier conditions after rooting.
Fertilization: Does not require intensive fertilization. An application of organic
compost or balanced (or phosphorus-rich) fertilizer at the beginning of the growing
season is sufficient. In pots, a substrate with slow-release nutrients
will suffice.
Height: 35–40 cm.
Pruning: Does not require formal pruning. Removing dried flowers enhances the appearance
of the plant and can prolong flowering. Pinching out the first buds encourages more
branching and flowering.
Life cycle: Usually an annual in temperate climates; can persist
as a perennial in warmer regions.
Type of substrate: Light, well-drained and fertile soil; tolerates sandy,
clay or limestone soils as long as they drain well. Slightly acidic to slightly alkaline pH
is compatible.
Not Pet Friendly: Although there are no frequent reports of toxicity,
ingestion should be avoided.
Curiosity: The epithet ‘globose’ refers to the spherical shape of the inflorescences,
and ‘perpetual’ comes from the flowers’ ability to retain color and shape
after drying. It is prized for attracting bees and butterflies and is ideal for decorative
dried flowers.

After the order is shipped, the system sends an email to the address provided by the customer with the tracking number from CTT, our distribution partner, so you can track the order.
To ensure you receive the products in the best condition, only one delivery attempt is planned. We suggest you choose a day and time when someone will be home to receive the order, provide a contact phone number, and include any useful instructions in the notes.

For legal reasons, when plants leave our Garden Centers, their phytosanitary passport loses its validity, so they cannot be placed back into the commercial circuit. Therefore, we cannot exchange or accept returns for plants or flowers.
