The Alocasia zebrina is a super elegant and exotic plant, essential for any space. It’s well known for its stems, whose pattern resembles a zebra’s body (hence its common name). Its slender striped petioles and glossy dark green arrow-shaped leaves transport you to the heart of a tropical rainforest. As a tropical native, it’s quite sensitive to winter and low temperatures. In our climate, it prefers being indoors and may still enter dormancy, losing some leaves during the colder months, only to return with larger leaves than ever the following spring and summer.

Temperature: Ideally around 18-22ÂşC.

Humidity: Needs higher humidity than usual (60–80%). Benefits from regular misting or a humidifier, especially in drier environments.
Fertilization: Apply a balanced fertilizer in spring and summer.
Pruning: Removing yellow or burnt stems/leaves helps maintain the plant’s health and appearance. Dusting the leaves also helps promote photosynthesis.
