It’s a very versatile plant that can be grown as a trailing plant or trained to climb. It has evergreen foliage. The most common variety has dark green leaves, and the ‘variegated’ option has cream/yellowish tones (it will prefer brighter light). Ivy is very easy to recognise, low-maintenance (as long as it’s placed in the right spot), and highly ornamental. It’s one of the most widely used outdoor climbers, well adapted to our climate, especially in partial shade. Regular pruning is important to keep its growth under control.
