This is an easy-care plant, very versatile, beneficial for your health, with an elegant appearance and absolutely classic, either because it reminds us of our grandmothers’ homes, or because we often see it at building entrances. It’s perfect for indoors, as it purifies the air and improves environmental quality, but in our climate it does beautifully outdoors. It may suffer a bit or become less lush (with burnt leaves) during the coldest months of the year, but generally, it adapts well to outdoor spaces, growing relatively fast and requiring practically no maintenance, especially if it’s in the ground and in locations with adequate sun exposure (indirect light – it doesn’t tolerate direct sun, especially during the hottest hours). Besides its popular leaves, thin and arching, in vibrant green tones, the Spider Plant produces long stems that develop from the mother plant, along which small plantlets appear – the so-called “pups” – giving it a light and dynamic appearance, creating a very decorative cascading effect, ideal for hanging pots or shelves. And as if that weren’t enough, it’s also a Pet Friendly plant! This is, without a doubt, one of the best options for beginners, plant lovers and Plant Styling enthusiasts.

CUIDADOS
Light: Loves bright indirect light, meaning it prefers to be placed in locations where it doesn’t get direct sun. It tolerates environments with less natural light but if they’re too shady, growth may be slower or even compromised.
Temperature: Prefers mild temperatures. It can’t handle temperatures below 5°C.
Watering: Moderate. If it’s in a pot/planter, watch out for standing water in the saucer as it increases the risk of root rot.
Fertilization: Not demanding, but benefits from fertilization during the growing season (spring-summer) to grow more vigorously and keep leaves green and healthy.
Pruning: Light – only to keep the plant beautiful and healthy (remove dry or damaged leaves) or to control/manage the number of stems/shoots.
Soil: Light and well-drained. A universal substrate will be suitable. If planting in a pot, you should apply a layer of expanded clay at the bottom before the substrate.
Pet Friendly: Considered a safe plant for pets.
