The Heritage Avenida Liberdade hotel has reopened after a complete renovation of all its spaces, with the aim of refreshing the hotel’s image without losing its history and tradition dating back to the 18th century. The work was carried out by the MCM architecture studio and led by architect Miguel Câncio Martins. Horto do Campo Grande is proud to have contributed to this project, which brings nature together with the hotel’s sophisticated setting.
The interiors of this iconic Lisbon hotel were updated to harmonise materials, colours and textures, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere where plants—in planters, pots and cachepots—take centre stage. The plants were carefully selected, in different sizes, textures and tones, taking into account the location and purpose they were intended for.
You can find plants such as Calathea, Hedera Helix and Rhipsalis in the cachepots on the shelves, which serve as a dividing element. In the large wicker vases, covered inside with fiberglass (a process used in all Horto Collection planters), so that watering does not damage them, the choice fell on the imposing and tropical Strelitzias Nicolai. On the backs of the sofas, the flower boxes have been filled with Calathea, Chamaedorea Elegans, Monstera Deliciosa, Strelitzia Nicolai and Zamioculcas Zamifolia, plants of different heights and shades of green, which create an interesting natural barrier.
The interior maintenance team at Horto do Campo Grande monitors the growth of all these plants with regular visits to the space.
