Committed to sustainability and social responsibility, a growing trend in the hospitality industry, JAM Hotels presents a unique and innovative approach with a collection of simple, urban hotels. Each hotel adapts to the roots of the city where it is located, with a touch of surprise, festivity, and comfortable sustainability.
Jam Lisboa features, along its façade, a set of pink-toned concrete benches and planters, where guests can enjoy a pleasant outdoor area that extends into the interior through extensive glazing. For these planters, a selection of plants with an exuberant and decorative character was made. Plants with great visual impact, originating from tropical climates that, with different textures, colors, and shapes, bring nature to life and integrate into the decoration of these common areas.
The top floor, with a privileged view of the Tagus River, features a bar area, pool, and terrace. Here, the plant selection focused primarily on maritime climate species, for their resilience and good adaptation, but also for the lower maintenance they require, since many of them are located in hard-to-reach areas.
In the planters we find Mediterranean plants, resistant to the weather conditions that an exposed terrace requires, and aromatic plants such as mint, used in the cocktails served to clients.
To conceal the technical areas, where equipment such as air conditioning units is located, approximately 120 Horto Collection planters were produced and installed. These custom-made planters (format and finish) underwent treatment specially suited to the conditions they are exposed to (painted with special paint, resistant to high-salinity climates, for greater longevity), and received plantings of various species that also enhanced the building’s own façade.
