KPMG

KPMG’s headquarters in Lisbon has just gained a new floor following an expansion project led by Vector Mais, with design by Openbook studio, resulting in an engaging and inspiring workspace that accommodates 160 employees, featuring the Kalm Garden as its main highlight—a refuge that invites you to slow down from the hectic pace of everyday life.

Interior

Horto do Campo Grande’s proposal included a careful selection of plants and materials that meet the design and functionality specifications required by the project. Among the species supplied and planted by Horto do Campo Grande, Chamaedorea elegans and Dieffenbachia seguine stand out in the open spaces for the harmonious and balanced result they bring to the areas where they are placed. In areas with higher concentrations of people, the choice fell on Philodendron Imperial Green and Spathiphyllum for their air-purifying properties.

In the Kalm Garden, whose goal was to create an “oasis of serenity,” Dypsis lutescens, Nephrolepis exaltata, and Plebodium aureum blue star were proposed, contributing alongside the other selected materials to achieve a calm and organic atmosphere.

Horto do Campo Grande was also responsible for creating an impressive vertical garden composed of natural freeze-dried plants—a preservation process that uses a drying technique to remove moisture from plants while maintaining their foliage, texture, and integrity.

Horto Collection flower boxes

The plants—Ficus lyrata, Monstera deliciosa, Strelitzia nicolai, and Howea fosteriana—were placed in pots to create natural accents in strategic areas of the office. Ficonstone pots were chosen, a durable material with a luxurious finish reminiscent of coral that transports us to the enchantment of the ocean. This finish is achieved through a special technique where colors are hand-sprayed in multiple layers, resulting in truly unique pieces. All pots received an interior insulation treatment carried out in Horto do Campo Grande’s workshops, a technique used in the Horto Collection planters that, in addition to ensuring watertightness, extends their durability.
