Martinhal Residences

Owned by the Elegant Group, which is part of Martinhal Family Hotels Resorts, Martinhal Residences, designed by internationally renowned architect Eduardo Capinha Lopes, is a premium contemporary development offering comfortable and elegant flats in a modern area of Lisbon, Parque das Nações. The landscaping project, designed by Atelier Ceregeiro, was entirely carried out by Horto do Campo Grande.

Outdoor area

The proposed plant selection is representative of the geographical/bioclimatic context – native plants, associated with ornamental species and taking into account their compatibility, growth and dominance of neighbouring species, with a view to less demanding maintenance. The entire planted area was equipped with a drip irrigation system for sustainable water management, as well as drainage systems.

The execution of this project was made all the more difficult by the individuality of each flowerbed + flowerbed set, which was overcome by the experience acquired over the years by HCG’s made-to-measure products department.

Horto Collection planters

The building is characterised by its modular geometry, with the most notable features being the flower boxes and planters on the balconies. Each set has at least one planter, in which a small olive tree with an already formed trunk has been installed.

The boxes that make up the various flower boxes were all built in the Horto do Campo Grande workshops, in galvanised sheet metal and painted with anti-corrosion paint and a matt finish, a light and resistant material. The interior was duly insulated with fibreglass and resin, and they were placed on site using load lifts. They have all been equipped with a drainage system to ensure the healthy development of the plants.

Maintenance will follow, carried out using a scaffold, as most of the planters are in contact with balcony openings on the building’s various facades.
