Another ‘Festa das Mesas’ took place at the Palácio do Estoril Hotel on November 9th. This event, organised by Carlos Pissarra and celebrating its tenth edition this year, praises the Art of the Author’s Table and involved the participation of 12 professionals from the fields of architecture, interior design, floral art and table art, as well as the collaboration of prestigious national and international brands.
During the day, the tables and environments could be appreciated by hundreds of visitors who passed through the Hotel Palácio do Estoril, and in the evening by the 150 or so guests invited to the dinner party held here. The event also featured a Solidarity Table, designed by Carlos Pissarra, where SPAL debuted the new Étoile dinner service, and whose diners’ contribution is donated to Aldeias de Crianças SOS (SOS Children’s Villages).
Horto do Campo Grande once again supported the event, collaborating with two of the invited professionals, Conceitos de Arte and Rita Salgueiro, who presented two marvellous Christmas table proposals.
‘’Festa no Palácio‘’ (Party at the Palace) by Conceitos de Arte
Inspired by the iconic Hotel Palácio do Estoril, the table created by Conceitos de Arte for Festa das Mesas paid homage to the sophistication and charm of this legendary setting, taking the hotel itself as the starting point for this exclusive composition.
The proposal brought an innovation by reversing the traditional concept of flowers in vases in the centre of the table, transporting them to the tablecloth in a full, rich print.
The table centre was then occupied by corals and splendid green vegetation, evoking a maritime theme.
For the striking floral tablecloth and napkins, the Conceitos de Arte atelier used linen fabrics from Pedroso e Osório, which came to life in the exclusive design developed in conjunction with A Table Story.
The corals that made up the centrepiece were carefully selected and curated by One of a Kind. Combined with the green and organic plants supplied by Horto do Campo Grande, they created a captivating setting that reflects a spontaneous and unique nature.

The ceramic plates from Costa Nova, with their simple and organic shapes, do not overpower the richness of the tablecloth, establishing a harmonious and fluid connection with all the natural elements present on the table.
Christofle’s classic cutlery adds elegance to the set, helping to establish the desired balance and sophistication.
The hotel’s original chairs underwent a creative intervention by the Conceitos de Arte studio in partnership with Mamoa. The aim was to preserve their essence while adding a contemporary touch, thus transforming their presence in the setting.
As a backdrop to all this scenery, a magnificent canvas created by artist Paula Paes Leme stood out. Her work brought colour and irreverence, giving a contemporary feel that enhanced the classic and unique setting of the Hotel Palácio.
The combination of corals and flowers unites the sea with the sophistication of the Palácio, providing an elegant and unique visual experience. Every detail was thought out to offer guests a modern and immersive interpretation of the atmosphere that makes the Estoril Palace an unrivalled reference in sophistication and detail.

“Jantar de Natal na Selva” (Christmas Dinner in the Jungle) by Rita Salgueiro
Christmas is one of the most important times of the year, celebrated at the table, and as such should be decorated with the pomp and circumstance that the occasion demands.

“When what we want is a perfect Christmas table, in a different place, out of context, there’s nothing like having a “Christmas Dinner in the Jungle”, surrounded by the best it has to offer. Everything is perfect in nature. On this themed table, the decorative elements alluding to the season, such as reindeer, deer, pine cones, among others, the floral arrangements with holly and, at the Christmas dinner/supper, the candles, could not be missing to join the best tableware, cutlery and glasses. During lunch, candles are not allowed, but you can always use the tealights to place other accessories or decorative props, for example to place sweets,” says Rita Salgueiro, the interior architect responsible for decorating this spectacular table.
