Lemon verbena, also known as sweet lime, is a deciduous perennial shrub prized for its intense lemon scent. The leaves are lance-shaped, pale green, and give off a distinctive, very pleasant citrus fragrance. Just run your hand over the leaves and the scent stays on your skin. It flowers in summer, producing small white or lavender blooms that make any garden or terrace a delight. It’s widely used in infusions, cooking, and aromatherapy thanks to its relaxing and digestive properties.

Light: Needs direct sun and should be grown in full sun. It also tolerates partial shade (direct sun only part of the day—morning or afternoon).
Temperature: Sensitive to cold. It drops its leaves at 0°C, but the branches can withstand down to -10°C, and the leaves grow back when temperatures warm up (spring).
Watering: Regular (especially if in a pot/planter), keeping the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged.
Fertilising: Apply organic fertiliser in spring to encourage growth.

Suggestion/Recipe: To make an infusion that’s not only delicious but also has antioxidant properties and a relaxing effect, simply pick a few leaves from your plant, rinse them well under running water, pour freshly boiled water over the leaves (don’t boil the fresh leaves with the water), let it steep for 5 minutes, and drink. Enjoy this wonderful hot drink, or pop it in the fridge and drink it cold. You’ll love it!
If you mix it with lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), you’ll like it too.

Yes, you can choose to pick up your products at one of our 3 Garden Centers (Campo Grande, Quinta da Eira-Sintra, and Fernão Ferro).
After the order is shipped, the system sends an email to the address provided by the customer with the tracking number from CTT, our distribution partner, so you can track the order.
To ensure you receive the products in the best condition, only one delivery attempt is planned. We suggest you choose a day and time when someone will be home to receive the order, provide a contact phone number, and include any useful instructions in the notes.

For legal reasons, when plants leave our Garden Centers, their phytosanitary passport loses its validity, so they cannot be placed back into the commercial circuit. Therefore, we cannot exchange or accept returns for plants or flowers.

After receiving the product, you have 14 days to communicate your intent to return it (Article 10 of Decree-Law No. 24/2014); after communication, you have another 14 days to send the product.
