Light: Indirect/filtered light but also tolerates shadier environments—note that the less light it gets, the less water it will need. Doesn’t tolerate direct sun (it may get scorched).
Temperature: Ideally between 18° and 22°C. Mild and humid environments are ideal as they replicate its natural habitat.
Humidity: As a plant native to tropical rainforests, it appreciates high air humidity. Doesn’t tolerate overly dry environments or very high temperatures.
Watering: Let the substrate dry out almost completely (not just on the surface) before watering again. Watch out for waterlogging: saucers with standing water or decorative pots without drainage holes promote root rot. No standing water!
Soil: Use a lightweight, well-draining, slightly acidic substrate (mixing perlite/sand into the substrate and expanded clay at the bottom of the pot helps improve drainage).
Fertilization: Fertilize monthly during spring with a fertilizer suitable for green/indoor plants, following the product label instructions.
